Peter Manus

Between the commas, lies Peter Manus, a versatile director of adverts and feature films, who traffics in a powerful visual style that is explosive, persuasive and untamed, always flirting with the unexpected. The ramp speed, punchy style that characterizes his work comes from his outsider status throughout his life. Born and raised in Hollywood, California, he never really fit into the community, having instead to find unique ways to stand out and make noise. His out of the box ways became further entrenched as he rubbed up against the normalcy of the San Fernando Valley, a suburb of Los Angeles.

His interest in cinema knew no bounds, as he consumed films from Akira Kurosawa, David Lean, Orson Welles, and Ingmar Bergman as well as Sam Peckinpah and Charlie Chaplin, all of them outsiders. His exposure to the filmic variance help set the stage for his interest in the possibilities of variety.

When not shooting, he is traveling, skydiving, jet-boating, cooking and tasting the world around him, a sensorial approach to life that definitely informs his storytelling in a colorful way.

All in all, Peter is driven by a desire to explore new avenues of filmic expression, never content with repeating previous successes, a trait that has lead to continued, engaging work for many satisfied clients and unique films. If you are ready to make a film, he is ready to have a cup of coffee with you and unleash his vision.
